Everything you have experienced, good and bad, is in your heart. Unhealed emotions and bad memories have tendency to resurface when under pressure. You can deal with suppressed emotions before you paint yourself into a corner.
Going through a process of inner healing myself, my counselor at the time suggested me to start writing a healing journal. Over time, I was inspired to write healing journal writing prompts based on my experiences.
If you would like to embark a creative inner healing journey with me, I would suggest to start writing a healing journal yourself. If unsure how to start, here is one writing prompt that might help you get started:

DAY ONE writing prompt:
There are days when one knows that there is a need of healing, but it just feels like ‘being stuck’ emotionally and not knowing how to ‘dig in’ messy emotions and do the hard work of expressing issues of a heart. It feels like being numb.
It is all part of the healing process. Take your time. Find a way to express whatever is on your heart and mind in your personal, daily encounters with Jesus. Heart needs a safe space to express its thoughts and emotions. It needs to be heard.
You can write a candid letter expressing how you feel today, even if you don’t feel anything. You can start with: “Good morning Jesus, …” Share today's concerns, questions, and feelings with Jesus.

More Healing Journal Writing Prompts
If you have been blessed by today’s writing prompt and you would like to receive more writing prompts, you can send me an email and ask for a pdf. copy of a “Healing journal”. It is a small collection of writing prompts evoking elusive negative emotions in need of inner healing. I wrote “Healing journal” as a helpful tool helping people get in touch with “frozen” memories and emotions in need of inner healing.
