As the holidays approach, some people feel anxious about gathering around a shared meal with family members or friends entangled in ongoing disappointments. Is there an alternative to feeling stuck this holiday season? Can anything be done about it?
Although it may be difficult to connect with individuals who consistently disappoint you, there remains the possibility of beginning a journey of healing and restoration, trusting God to mend challenging relationships. While this is easier said than done, it is something one can aspire to and anticipate. Today's Heart Reflection's project explores this specific opportunity.

Take a moment to reflect on which relationship you think of while observing the painting. It could be that God is inviting you to start a journey of healing that fractured relationship.
The painting is primarily rendered in purple and gold hues, symbolizing God's royal authority and wealth, which overshadow the entire depiction of a relationship facing difficulties.
The two birds on a hook, enclosed in a bubble, symbolize two individuals trapped in a challenging situation. The hook serves as a metaphor for recognizing a conflict. One bird is ensnared by an attitude of offense, while the other is trapped in victimhood, both essentially caught on the same hook.
The wisdom literature in the Bible mentions that “the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook.” - Proverbs 18:4. Therefore, the bubbles in the painting symbolize words that have surfaced. Words have the power to harm and create conflict, but when guided by God's wisdom, they can uplift, empower, and heal.
If you're thinking about starting a restorative journey with someone, here's a message for you:
Poem “El Roi sees you”
I notice your tears during the night.
I understand your heart and the disappointments you are going through.
I watch you when you tuck your children into bed.
I know how you feel when you don’t know what to do.
I hold the solutions to your prayers.
I also know what you should do.
It's your decision whether or not to trust me.
Will you let me see you through?
