Have you recently heard a knocking sound, opened your door, and realized it was just your imagination? What about dreams—have you heard a knocking sound just before waking up and wondered what it signifies?
In a letter to the churches found in the book of Revelation, it is noted that Jesus says: “Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.” - Revelation 3:20 Amplified Bible
Having been inspired by Revelation 3:20 for quite some time, two years ago I felt compelled to write a poem that I would like to share with you today:
The empty cup is overflowing
My cup is empty and overflowing.
How it can be both empty and overflowing,
All at the same time, one might ask?
Well, it is a calling; a Maker is forming His design.
We empty the cup, and He is overflowing.
My heart was brimming with anger, resentment, and shame.
However, I then heard the knocking,
And I let go of the deeply stored pain.
Jesus was standing and knocking at the door of my soul.
My heart was pounding as I opened the door.
Suddenly, I heard the sound attempting to get out.
The Holy Spirit was yearning to fill my heart.
I feel fulfilled and thriving in the Lord, as Jesus is renewing my soul.
A new song is emerging amidst the hurt.
My heart rejoices at the sound of familiar truth.
His wounds bring healing, his presence brings peace.
I find joy in my Lord Jesus, my king.
His footsteps are now moving to another storehouse of shame.
You guessed it right!
Once more, he has arrived to mend your pain.
If you close your eyes, you might just see the door to your soul.
He wants to know if you will open the door.
He is opening ears to hear:
[Knock. Knock. Knock.]

When you perceive a door to your heart or hear a knock in response to reflecting on Revelation 3:20, you can pray and invite Jesus to enter the broken areas of your heart where He is knocking today. Jesus is a gentle healer who does not intrude; He only comes into the fractured parts of a heart when He is welcomed.
If you have not heard the knocking sound yet, or perceived a door to your soul, you can ask the Holy Spirit to open your senses to be able to see and hear what He desires to reveal. Be blessed as you explore new dimensions of healing, transparency, and intimacy with Jesus!

But solid food is for the [spiritually] mature, whose senses are trained by practice to distinguish between what is morally good and what is evil.- Hebrews 5:14 Amplified Bible (AMP)
