"Repetitio est mater studiorum" is a Latin phrase that translates to "repetition is the mother of study/learning." Regardless of whether you concur with the wisdom of this Latin saying, incorporating repetition into any learning process could be advantageous.
As you reflect on Ephesians 4:25, "Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body," invite the Holy Spirit to examine your heart for any recent false or deceptive statements. Any memories that your conscience brings to light during this reflection may indicate something deceptive or untrue in your words or actions that resulted in a deceptive interaction with another individual. As a result, you can repent for any errors you may have made or spoken and open your heart to love and truth.
During this process, you can also request the Holy Spirit's assistance with your weaknesses and guidance in expressing truth with love in the following interactions with the individual. However, consider communication in broader terms beyond just spoken words (while still including verbal communication). In addition to verbal communication, there are also non-verbal, visual, written, creative, listening aspects...
What is the Holy Spirit highlighting for you today as a method of "communicating truth in love"? Are you considering using multiple means of communication to convey truth in love? Whatever aspect of communication you choose, don't limit it to a single attempt. Make a conscious effort to repeat it 20-30 times until it becomes a reflex.
You can journal the things you do, how the efforts make you feel, and what you are learning in the process. Perhaps you might be inspired to employ creativity in the learning process as well. Practice makes perfect!
