Colony Collapse Disorder is a phenomenon where most of the worker bees in a colony vanish, leaving behind a queen, ample food, and a few nurse bees to tend to the remaining immature bees and the queen. The reasons behind why bee colonies choose to leave and how they decide on a new location are still unanswered. Similarly, the reasons for people leaving their communities are also unclear. If you feel a lack of belonging, today’s blog post is for you.

I captured a photo of a "solitary bee" in a small village on the outskirts of Tuzla, where most of the residents have moved away to seek better living conditions in the west.
Some people are like a lonely bee, going from one flower to another, looking for a place that will give them a sense of belonging and fullness of purpose. Usually the reason for unrest is internal, although superficially there are external conflicts causing people to look for “greener pastures”.
If you ever feel out of place and experience a profound longing for something indescribable, it may be because there's an undiscovered calling in your life. Regardless of your age, ethnic background, or educational level, this unrest might suggest a need for self-reflection and a journey to uncover the divine identity and purpose that the Father uniquely designed for you.
It took me four decades to realize that my purpose was to be an artist. Although I always appreciated art, I never excelled at it. I had a passion for poetry, yet I never imagined that the Father had a reservoir of poetic expression waiting for me to uncover. As I continue exploring the depths of who God intended me to be, I find myself constantly amazed and enveloped in His love for me. The wells I've unearthed through a close relationship with Jesus also nourish a few others.
Are you aware of the person God intended you to become? What wells have you unearthed that enable God's unique design for your life to shine through? Whether you are at the start of your life or enjoying retirement, there are new gifts and blessings to be uncovered through a journey of self-reflection and closeness with Jesus.
As you contemplate your life and the unique talents you have, prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit to uncover new aspects of who God made you to be. While praying, remember to record your thoughts and prayer requests in a journal. Whatever the Holy Spirit reveals to you during prayer, be sure to collaborate with Him by exploring new opportunities awaiting your discovery.
