“Who Is Your Muse—and Where Are They Leading You?”

Art has a language of its own. Sometimes we understand a painting at first glance; other times, we need to sit with it. The same artwork may speak differently to different people. As you look, notice what its colours, shapes, objects, and textures stir in you. Art can be like visual poetry, reaching feelings that are difficult to put into words.

Today, I invite you to spend time with Mosaic—Who Is Your Muse?, the first painting in my Heart Reflections collection. As you explore the artwork, consider what it might reveal about the influences shaping your own heart.

A mosaic brings small, separate pieces together to form an image. That process made me think about the people, ideas, and experiences that become part of who we are. Who has inspired you? Whose voice has stayed with you? Which influences are helping you grow closer to God and others?

A muse can be a source of inspiration. Today, we might also speak of influencers: people whose words and choices affect how we dress, think, speak, behave, and create. Their influence can be subtle. Over time, it may shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to God.

This painting invites us to look at both the individual pieces and the whole picture. Some influences may be life-giving; others may draw our attention toward seeking admiration or approval. What is taking shape in the mosaic of your heart? And where is it leading you?

You might ask the Holy Spirit to help you recognise the voices and influences you have welcomed into your life. Then ask which ones are helping you turn toward Christ.
