Imagination serves as a important tool for discovering innovative solutions to challenges. Frequently, all that is required is the capacity to engage your imagination and adopt a child-like mindset to explore a different reality. If you seek a creative solution to a problem, today’s blog post is made for you.

People occasionally reject creative solutions because they struggle to think outside their typical patterns of what is acceptable, or they find it difficult to envision something new. I have addressed this weakness by enrolling in a course. A decade ago, I took a Creative Solutions course. One of the exercises in the course involved imagining at least 50 different uses for a paper clip. This exercise was a strong practice in thinking outside the box.

Since then, I've realized that imagination is a potent tool capable of leading people to incredible possibilities. Before we can create anything, we must be able to envision it. Let me share one of my recent experiences with you.

While taking a walk and reflecting on some present challenges, I came across a devotional centered on a verse from Isaiah. Over time, I've cultivated the skill of using my imagination when contemplating Bible verses, which has allowed me to consider different creative possibilities. Thus, during my prayer walk, I reflected on that particular Bible verse through use of imagination.

While reflecting on various aspects of the verse and keeping my attention on Jesus, something shifted. Instead of feeling frustrated with the day's issues, I found peace. In this state of peaceful delight, I felt compassion for someone and was inspired to write a poem and create a painting.

In the days that followed, I received more than I expected; I was inspired to dream alongside God, which provided purpose to my present challenges, filled me with hope, and shifted my focus from temporary issues to a broader vision of my personal future journey with God.

If you're seeking a creative solution to a particular problem you're encountering, I recommend doing three things:

  1. Express your thoughts and challenges to Father through prayer.

  2. Reflect on a Bible verse that holds significance for you right now.

  3. Take a prayer walk, reflecting on the verse. During this journey of daily focusing on Jesus, you'll discover your creative solution. Be willing to embrace that solution with the openness of a child.

Practice embracing your inner child to solve problems!

You know, children often give drawings as a way to express love to others. Embrace your creativity and express it freely, just like a child would.

You might believe that such an idea couldn't possibly solve a current issue, and you're correct. The initial creative step is merely a beginning in the right direction. A complete journey of innovative thinking awaits you! You've explored every other option, so why not try something different?

If you come up with a creative solution to a problem you're dealing with today, regardless of how silly it might seem, please share it with me. I'd love to hear all about it!

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. - Romans 12:1-2 MSG
