Throughout our lives, we continuously learn various things. Among these is the art of loving well, even when faced with disappointment from spouses, family members, or friends. If you've recently felt let down in love and are in need of healing, today's blog post is for you!

"Love is Willing" 2026. Mixed media on canvas, 30cm x 30cm

“Love makes you willing to forgive many sins.” (1 Peter 4:8 ERV)

I created “Love is willing” during a time when I faced the challenge of reaching out to a cunning person. I spent a few days praying for this individual, processing my hurt, and choosing to forgive. Lacking love for this person, I asked the Holy Spirit to help me see this person through the Father’s love. Once I was immersed in the Father’s love, I was able to forgive and reach out, while maintaining appropriate boundaries. I became open to exploring how Christ loves people through people, despite significant challenges. This is the most challenging painting I have done recently.

Tulips often represent perfect, deep love, renewal, and mercy. As flowers that bloom in early spring, they symbolize fresh starts, and their pink hue communicates grace and friendship.

Upon closer examination, the completed painting exposes its rough underpainting process, reminding us that many aspects of life, such as relationships, consist of multiple layers with various complexities. At times, we must peel back these layers to reach the core issue that requires attention.

Speaking of mastering the art of loving well, the painting communicates that Christ's love can produce the most beautiful and delicate creations in the most difficult environments if individuals are open to examining various layers of conflicting interactions through the lens of love.

If you have a moment, spend a few minutes observing the painting. Notice the feelings that arise as you view "Love is Willing."
